Today, Ombudsman operates more than 80 accredited programs throughout the U.S.
Ombudsman Educational Services collaborates with public school districts to provide accredited alternative education to middle and high school students at risk of dropping out of school, helping students earn diplomas and helping school districts improve graduation rates.
Ombudsman is accredited by AdvancED, the unified organization of the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI). AdvancED is dedicated to advancing excellence in education worldwide through accreditation, research, and professional services. AdvancED creates the world's largest education community, representing 27,000 public and private schools and districts across the United States and in 65 countries worldwide and educating 15 million students. NCA CASI, SACS and CASI schools share a unified, clear and powerful accreditation process designed to help schools continuously improve. Ombudsman is also accredited by Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools (MSCES).
Ombudsman’s accredited alternative program for dropouts helps students remain focused, motivated and engaged in learning, with the goal of returning to their district school closer to or at grade level or graduating with a school district diploma. In some cases with the approval of the school district, students may graduate with an accredited Ombudsman diploma. Like a school district diploma, an accredited Ombudsman allows students to enroll in colleges, universities or vocational/technical training programs or join the armed services.
Ombudsman also provides dropout prevention and recovery programs at charter schools in Arizona. Charter schools are funded by the state and students attend free of charge.
