Regular school is harder for me. At Ombudsman I have no distractions and I get it. Some stuff made no sense to me in the past, but now it does. Here, there’s not as much commotion and for the first time, I really wanted to learn. It seemed like, in the past, you’d go over the same stuff every year. But here, you study it and you take the test. Working alone, on the computer, at my own pace, was perfect for me.
At my old school, the teacher had to deal with this kid and this kid, and so on. But here, they spend time with me.

At my old school, the teacher had to deal with this kid and this kid, and so on. It’s not like that at Ombudsman, they spend time with me. I never used to understand all the law stuff, like the three different branches, but I get it now. The teachers really explain things to me and that’s why I love it here.
My mom was worried that I was going down the wrong road because I couldn’t focus at my old school. When we came to Ombudsman, everything changed. I do the work and that’s all I have to worry about. When I come home and tell my mom that school is easy, she can’t believe it. It is easy, because I’m finally getting it.
